物の哀れ is a series of screen prints examining what remains after force passes through a place. Working between cultural symbol and documentary residue, the prints locate grief not in the moment of rupture but in what lingers after it. The trace, the bloom, the mask still holding its expression. The series borrows its title from Motoori Norinaga's concept of a profound sensitivity to impermanence, proposing that beauty and sorrow are not opposites but the same perception arriving from different directions.
